Explanation
While an upbringing can directly or indirectly cause different thought patterns, including sexual preferences, it is absurd that a child would be raised by non-humans, such as sessile organisms like corals which are animals and reproduce as Sally describes. Corals release male and female sex cells (gametes) into the water in which they live with the expectation that at least a few pairs of male and female cells would randomly float together to form offspring.
Sally claiming that Lawrence was perfectly still while releasing his gametes into the environment is likely an additional joke (subverted by the votey panel, which reveals that Lawrence really is a coral and not a human), implying that Lawrence had no enthusiasm and did not move at all during sexual intercourse. In multiple sex positions, both partners rhythmically move their entire bodies. Furthermore, Lawrence releasing his gametes into simply "the environment" instead of Sally's vagina, some other orifice, or a condom, implies that he practiced the highly ineffective contraceptive method of "pulling out".
