The snow kids are two unnamed recurring characters in SMBC, who in their comics discuss philosophical topics while they walk through a snowy landscape. Usually, the kids are an redheaded girl with gray pants and a mustard jacket over a lavender shirt, and a girl with dark, curly hair with a maroon dress and scarf and a green jacket.
Sometimes the black-haired girl poses a question, sometimes the redheaded girl, and sometimes a question isn't explicitly posed, but either way the latter tends to have a more optimistic outlook and the former a pessimistic one. The former sometimes acknowledges herself to be smug and obtuse. She doesn't let her grim philosophy affect her happiness, though, and believes that the reason and emotion parts of her brain are just separate. Zach says this is his own experience in that comic's votey.
The votey often references the fact that they mostly appear in the snow. The title text of Heap-problems claims that they get to do other things, but the redheaded girl says in the votey of Philosophy-3 that they have been trapped out there for ten years. However, in Eat-what-you-know they appear at a barbecue.
One of their appearanceswhich? features them as adults.
Some comics, such as History-is-weird and Condemned, feature different children. Superluminal is not in snowy conditions, but fits the theme every other way, so is included in the category.
