Explanation
Pi (π) is a constant which precisely equals the ratio of every perfect circle's circumference to its diameter. This number is conjectured to be a "normal number", which means that every digit from 0 to 9 appears in it an equal and infinite amount, and thus every possible combination. While this hasn't been proven yet (as of 21st of march, 2025), the digits of pi have been calculated to 202 trillion digits, and all digits occur about equally.
Every possible piece of text and all information in general can be encoded as a large integer or as the decimal digits of a non-integer number. If pi is normal, then it includes all possible information, though without any indication where this information specifically is, and it also would include all possible misinformation. Of course the digits are assumed to be effectively random, though there could be a non-ad hoc encryption and decryption method that still allows pi to be normal while letting the information be easily discoverable, such as one where only the first 1 trillion or so digits have any meaning and the rest are completely irrelevant.
Messages hidden in pi are also mentioned in 2011-07-10.
